Who are our volunteers?

We're incredibly proud of our 850 strong volunteer network who operate in over 50 locations across every Australian state and territory. They have different careers, hobbies, and cultures.

But one thing they do have in common – they give their time, passion, and heart to raise awareness and essential funds that grant the wishes of hundreds of critically ill children each year.

These are our Make-A-Wish volunteers and we say thank you!

The volunteers Behind The Wish

Step into the world of our inspiring volunteers in  Behind The Wish - a heartfelt series that shines a light on the everyday superheroes bringing hope and joy to children with critical illnesses and their families.

The best part about being a volunteer is telling a wish kid and their family that their wish is coming true. Nothing compares.

Our Volunteer Representatives

Volunteers do more than help bring wishes to life—they help shape the future of Make-A-Wish Australia.

In addition to hands-on roles, volunteers contribute to the broader volunteer experience through leadership and advocacy. Elected volunteers from both regional and metropolitan areas form our  Volunteer Representative Council (VRC)—a dedicated forum that ensures volunteer voices are heard.

The VRC includes representatives on the Make-A-Wish Board and meets regularly with key stakeholders from Head Office. Together, they discuss important topics and share insights, ensuring volunteers have a say in decisions that shape our work and strengthen our commitment to volunteer leadership.
