Thank you

Your application is on its way to Wish Headquarters!

What happens next?

There are a few steps we need to take to approve your application.

We'll reach out to the child’s medical specialist to confirm their medical condition meets the wish eligibility criteria. Should the application be submitted by someone other than the Parent/Legal Guardian, we'll also need their consent before contacting the medical specialist.

You can check out our eligibility criteria here.

Once medical eligibility is confirmed, we'll contact you to let you know your application is approved! Then the fun part starts. We’ll take your child on a Wish Journey that's designed especially for them. Generally speaking, it can take around 18 months to 2 years to move through the five distinct stages of the Wish Journey, depending on a child's wish choice, medical treatment plans and the optimal timing for the wish to happen.

For 40 years, Make-A-Wish Australia has brought our community together to deliver hope and happiness for wish kids and their families. We strive for every child's wish to be unique, inspiring and extraordinary. After all, creativity, imagination and anticipation are all part of what makes our program so unique!

We're here to help. If you have any questions about this wish application, please email us at wishes@makeawish.org.au. Or if you’d prefer to chat, you can call our team on 1800 032 260.

Please note: Our offices will be closed from 24 December and we'll be back on Tuesday 6 January 2026.

If you have an urgent enquiry while we're away, please call 1800 032 260 and follow the prompts.

If your enquiry isn't urgent, please email us and we'll respond when we return.
