Meet Lawson, One Brave Wish Kid

In his four years, Lawson has faced more challenges than most of us do in our entire lives. He lives with muscular dystrophy, you see. This condition affects the muscles all over his body, especially in his arms and legs. And it makes every day a struggle.

“The day usually starts with Lawson crying out for help, as he can’t get out of bed on his own. Breakfast is the next challenge. Lawson can’t break down food, so he has a feeding tube to pump liquid food into his stomach. Using it isn’t very pleasant, so he often doesn’t want to eat.”

Lawson's BIG Wish

At just four years old, Lawson is full of curiosity and a Big Wish.

Living with muscular dystrophy, he faces daily challenges most of us never have to think about — but that doesn’t stop his unique imagination.

Lawson wish had to include diggers AND dolphins. It’s an unexpected combination that makes perfect sense when you know Lawson.

Today you can help children WISH Big and feel bigby granting their unique wish. A big wish is the opportunity to see possibility beyond a child's medical condition - it brings hope, joy and lasting memories.

For Lawson and his family, his wish is more than just a fun day. It’s a joyful distraction, a memory to hold onto, and a powerful reminder of what hope can do.

For the past 40 years, supporters like you have been helping us give joy to critically ill children when they need it most and again today, we need your help.

We need your help

Because we can’t keep granting wishes without your continued support.

When a child is living with a critical illness, it often means there are lots of things they can’t do.

Right now, there are 39 wishes in our program for kids with muscular dystrophy just like Lawson.

We grant wishes because every child deserves to wish for more than a life defined by illness. Please, don’t wait. Give a generous gift today.
