Sally Bateman

Sally Bateman was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Make-A-Wish Australia in January 2018. She brings to the role more than 20 years’ experience in multinational publishing companies, online retail and the not for profit sector where she’s held both Senior Executive and Non-Executive Director positions.

For more than a decade Sally held leadership roles at the world’s largest publishing companies. Most recently she was Digital & Marketing Director for Asia Pacific for global publisher Penguin Random House with responsibility for marketing, brand, digital product, sales, data and platform technology. Prior to that Sally led Penguin Australia’s Marketing & Digital division playing a pivotal role in Penguin’s digital transition and award-winning consumer marketing initiatives.

A Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors Course, Sally holds a Bachelor of Arts (Public Relations) from RMIT and is currently completing a Graduate Diploma of Psychology at The University of Melbourne.

Stephen Sharp B E C / LLB

Stephen has a long history with Make-A-Wish Australia, having originally joined the Board in 1997 and acting as Chairman from 2009 to 2014, before being re-appointed to Chair in May 2016.  Stephen is a senior Banking and Finance and Property and Development Partner with Arnold Bloch Leibler, and has consistently been ranked a leader in his field in a prominent international guides such as The Legal 500 Asia Pacific, Chambers Global and IFLR 1000.
