Team Wish Hub

When was the last time you saw a unicorn fly? Together, we can make the extraordinary come to life.

Thanks for being a part of the #WishForce

G'day #TeamWish! Thank you for joining us in making inspirational, life-changing wishes come true for sick children in your local community. As one of Australia's most trusted community-funded charities, we simply couldn't do what we do without supporters like you.

In this Team Wish hub, you'll find some handy information about the upcoming Team wish events, as well as the latest fundraising tools here. Please let us know if you have any questions, and thanks again for helping us to bring hope and joy to families across Australia.

Who are we?

Each and every day, Make-A-Wish brings amazing people together to grant life-changing wishes for children with a critical illness. The wishes complement medical treatment, supporting families and empowering sick children with hope and joy when they need it most. And for everyone involved, wishes have a remarkable, uplifting and positive impact – well beyond the wish itself.

Here at Make-A-Wish Australia, our vision is to be Australia's most inspirational children's charity.

About us

  • Make-A-Wish® Australia is part of the world’s largest wish-granting organisation, and the only Australian children's charity focusing exclusively on wishes.
  • We work in partnership with sick children, their families and medical teams to design and deliver wish experiences that are as unique as the children who imagine them.
  • Each wish is designed to complement a child's medical treatment – with the power to calm, distract and inspire sick kids and their families at the time they need it most.
  • From the incredibly humble to the seemingly impossible, we’ve made unicorns fly, sent kids to the moon and even helped bring dinosaurs back from extinction!
  • Make-A-Wish has been granting wishes in Australia since 1985 – more than 10,000 unforgettable wishes and counting.
  • As a trusted Australian charity, our wish program doesn't receive government funding and we rely on the generosity of volunteers, partners and supporters to make wishes happen.
  • In December 2018 and again in December 2019, Make-A-Wish was named one of the Top 20 Most Reputable Charities in Australia.

Fundraising Toolkit

Upload a recent and relevant photo to personalise your fundraising page.

What inspired you to participate in this event? Why have you chosen to support Make-A-Wish? What are you asking your supporters to do? Adding a story informs supporters to donate, knowing what you’re trying to achieve.

Setting a higher goal can encourage supporters to donate more, so you’ll raise even more funds to help make wishes come true.

The more people you tell, the more money you can raise. Email your fundraising page link to friends, family and colleagues, and spread the word on social media.

At the end of your fundraising journey, remember to thank everyone who donated and let them know how much you raised. When you reply through your fundraising page, they’ll get an email saying there’s a special message awaiting them.

Lost for words?

Hi <name>,

This year I’m taking part in the [EVENT NAME] to raise funds for Make-A-Wish® Australia. I’d love you to help make my fundraising a success by donating at [FUNDRAISING PAGE LINK].

The money I raise will help take kids on an uplifting wish journey as they fight critical illness.

These wishes not only transform the lives of critically ill children but they also have a lasting impact on their families – if you have time, read some amazing wish stories on www.makeawish.org.au/wishes.

I’m doing this event not only for my own sense of achievement, but to help make a positive difference to really sick children.

My goal is to raise [$TARGET], so any amount you can spare would be much appreciated!

Thank you in advance for your generosity and support!
