Who is eligible?
At Make-A-Wish® Australia all eligible children have the opportunity to have their cherished wish granted.
Children who have already received a wish from another wish-granting organisation (e.g. Starlight Foundation) are not eligible to receive a wish from
Make-A-Wish®.
Age Eligibility
Children between the ages of three and 18 with a life-threatening medical condition are eligible to receive a wish. Children must be under the age of 18 at the time of application; however the actual wish may take place after their 18th birthday.
Eligible children under the age of three may receive a wish hamper - a selection of age-appropriate toys. If the child is still medically eligible after their third birthday, they are able to apply for a wish at that time.
Medical Eligibility
Life-threatening medical conditions include, but are not restricted to, leukaemia and other childhood cancers, cystic fibrosis, certain types of muscular dystrophy and cardiac disorders.
The decision as to whether a child is medically eligible for a wish with Make-A-Wish is that of their treating medical specialist.
