Our Journey So Far….
We’re proud of Trent and love him dearly
More than words can tell you really
When he was 5 his head was hurting
So to a Doctor we did take him
A Brain Tumor?! - not in our plan
Until we saw the results of the scan
But what type? – the tests will tell
Until then, we go through hell
It’s off to the City to have a big op
The rollercoaster just will not stop
The Doctor says results are in
It’s Benign – we’ve had a win!
But then we had another scan
There’s still some there – bugger, damn!
Scan after scan, year after year
8 years on, and more to fear
No longer dormant, started to grow
Back to The Children’s we must go
Another op, so much pain
I hate to put him through that again
Op went well, home in a week
A better result on the scan we seek
No such luck, small bits there still
Somewhat of a bitter pill
Hope that dormant it will stay
Get on with life – enjoy each day
Make-A-Wish extend their hand
To grant Trent’s Wish to Legoland
Family holiday enjoyed to the max
With great sincerity we say “Thanks”
As for the future, we don’t know
But if it grows, it could be Chemo
An inspiration to us all
Spirits high and walking tall
Loving and caring, a shining star
