A Wiggling Good Time

Anticipation was high as Tylar dragged her mum Kelly through the foyer of Sun City in Sydney. The cute four-year-old was on a mission; she had red plastic roses for Dorothy the Dinosaur and two cardboard dog bones for Wags the Dog and she was going to meet the popular children’s entertainers, The Wiggles.

After being diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia last year, life for the tot hasn’t been much fun. There have been months of treatment, with more to come but according to mum the worse is behind Tylar.

‘It has been a long time since we have seen her happy,’ said Kelly, ‘Tylar was so excited when she knew she was going to meet the Wiggles.’

Tylar’s eyes lit up as she caught a glimpse of Jeff, Sam, Anthony and Murray on entering the ‘green room’ where she was to meet the quartet. As she bounced on to the ‘guest’ couch she got her gifts ready. Then it was her turn.

There was finger wiggling to practice, Jeff kept falling asleep and had to be woken up, Captain Feathersword stopped by and there were lots of photos to be taken with the colourful quartet. Then it was time to join all the other concert goers for some Hot Potato, a drive in a Big Red Car, lots of dancing and more finger ‘wiggling’.

On the inaugural World Wish Day over 200 Wishes were granted world-wide. In Australia our Wish Day Wish was Tylar’s cherished Wish to meet The Wiggles. What a wonderful Wish to celebrate the anniversary of the First Wish ever granted.
