A word from our National Patron

Being National Patron of Make-A-Wish Australia has been one of the most humbling and gratifying things I've ever done. Whether I'm speaking at our National Conferences, connecting with Make-A-Wish "angels" (volunteers), meeting Wish Children and their families, granting Wishes as a volunteer, enrolling potential corporate sponsors or watching the reactions of my conference audiences as I share the "life-lessons" our Wish Children have taught me…I know I am part of a unique charity…that taps into the sacredness of the human spirit.

Still going strong!

Make-A-Wish currently has 58 volunteer branches across the country, with over 1,100 volunteers working tirelessly to support the Foundation. Volunteers come from all walks of life and range in age from 18 to 85 and all share the one common goal - to provide magical Wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions.

We have come a long way

Dean Emeritus Gerard Dowling OAM or Father Gerard as he is affectionately known has served on the Board for all of its 25 years. He has seen the organisation grow from a handful of volunteers to one of the most recognised and respected charities in Australia with our staff and over 1,100 volunteers working tirelessly to continue granting Wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions.
