In early 2008 Kevin, at the age of 13 became very unwell. When the gastrointestinal symptoms persisted, the doctors told his parents, Jenson and Yuly that Kevin’s heart was extremely weak with only 10% function. In cardiac failure Kevin was placed as a priority on the heart transplant list and transferred immediately to Melbourne.
